AGM and Prizegiving 2011

This year’s AGM was a grand affair, held in the function room of the Wellington Rowing Club.
Several new appointments were made as the committee farewelled some of its longserving members. The new executive committee is now comprised of:

President – Michael Herder
Vice President – Griffin Hunt
Secretary – Elyse Robert
Treasurer – Amy Robson
Club Captain – Tim Wilson

VURC would like to thank its outgoing exec and welcome the new members on board.

At this AGM the committee was in the position of awarding its first Lifetime Membership Award. Long serving club captain and former rower, Tim Wilson, was unanimously voted in as the inaugural life member. VURC would like to thank Tim for his involvement in the club over the past few years, and hope that his input will continue into the future.

The ladies were looking rather charming at the AGM

And the lads weren’t too shabby either

At the conclusion of the AGM the move was made to Chicago Bar for the end of season prizegiving. The serious (and not so serious) awards were handed out, with the following people taking home certificates:

Best Novice Woman – Victoria Barczak
Most Improved Novice Woman – Liz Moore
Best Novice Man – Blake Heslop Charman
Most Improved Novice Man – Michael Green
Best Tournament Woman – Alice Courtney
Most Improved Tournament Woman – Rachel Masson
Best Tournament Man
Most Improved Tournament Man
Best Intermediate/Senior Man Sculler – Luke Watts
Best Intermediate/Senior Man Rower – Jamie Hunter
Best Cox – Liam Sweeney
Best Coach – Michele Munro

The night was a great success. Big ups to Chicago Bar for providing lots of free food!

Until next time…

– Elyse, VURC Secretary
